“Business in The Metaverse Economy,” or it’s known, is the first course about business that was offered by an Ivy League school.

The Wharton School, an internationally renowned business school, has announced the launch of a new course on business in the metaverse.

“Business in The Metaverse Economy” is the online course. It teaches students metaverse business practices and gives them first-hand experiences in virtual spaces.

Kevin Werbach, the academic director of the program, stated that the course’s purpose is to give business professionals a better understanding and tools to address the opportunities in the budding metaverse economic.

Other prominent universities in the United States have also adopted web3 technology as learning tools. For example, classes at Stanford University and Duke University offer course completion certificates that are non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Wharton’s program is the first to use the metaverse as an opportunity for economic growth in higher education.

Wharton co-developed the metaverse course in collaboration with Prysm Group, an economic consulting firm. This six-week program includes over 50 lectures videos and guest speakers from Adobe and Animoca Brands.
