Ice, ice, baby! We start to watch The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise hoping to see the start of eternal love, but we stay for the unbelievably humongous Neil Lane diamonds. Life & Style ranked some of the biggest and most impressive engagement rings in franchise history.
Of course, all of the beautiful Bachelor Nation couples who are still together today make up for those who called it quits. Take Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Luyendyk (née Burnham), for example. The duo, who were featured on the 2018 season of The Bachelor, definitely got off to a rocky start. For those who don’t remember, Arie originally proposed to Becca Kufrin before changing his mind and going back to Lauren.
Arie got down on one knee during the After the Final Rose special, and offered Lauren what Neil Lane admitted was “the most intricate ring” he’s ever designed. The 3.65-carat sparkler featured a cushion-cut center stone flanked by two baguette diamonds and 170 smaller stones.
Despite the drama, the couple got married in January 2019 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alessi Ren, in May 2019. The Virginia Beach native then gave birth to their twins — son Lux and daughter Senna — in June 2021.
Their love story continued to be the absolute cutest. In October 2021, the pair revealed that Arie had re-proprosed with a second engagement ring, almost twice the size of Lauren’s old Neil Lane sparkler.
“The ring I gave her on The Bachelor was obviously paid for,” Arie said of the decision to get a second engagement ring on YouTube. “We never really felt like it was something I chose for her, so I got her another ring. I’m re-proposing today. I’m a little nervous!”
Rachel Lindsay is one Bachelorette alum with a successful relationship from the show. Bryan Abasolo proposed to her with a 3-carat, pear-shaped diamond. The two got married in August 2019, and they’re still happily together today!
Season 16 star Clare Crawley shook up the reality dating series after Life & Style exclusively broke the news that she wanted to quit the show after less than two weeks of filming because she had already “fallen in love” with contestant Dale Moss. Days later, the former football player proposed midseason with one of the biggest rings in franchise history.
“You believed in us. You believed in you and I,” Dale gushed to Clare during the big moment. “And I know you’d go to the end of the world for me, and I’ve never had that. I wanna be here for you. I want to be strong. I want you to feel protected. and I want nothing more than to keep moving forward, to be there for you each and every day.”
Sadly, their relationship didn’t last and they eventually split. After Clare left the series, Tayshia Adams stepped in to take over as Bachelorette. In the end, the California native ended up with contestant Zac Clark. The addiction specialist popped the question with a gorgeous sparkler during the season finale, and the former couple was engaged for over a year before calling it quits.
