Congratulations! Chrissy Teigen has given birth, welcoming a rainbow baby with her husband, John Legend.
The “All of Me” artist, 44, announced the news onstage during a private concert, People reported on Friday, January 13.
“What a blessed day,” John said, per the outlet, adding that they had welcomed “the little baby this morning.” While he explained that he “didn’t get a lot of sleep,” he nevertheless felt “energized” after he and the supermodel, 36, spent “a lot of time” at the hospital.
The couple – who tied the knot in 2013 – are already the parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4.
Chrissy announced her pregnancy in August, nearly two years after she and John, 43, lost their unborn son Jack. “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least,” she shared via Instagram on August 3, alongside a photo of herself posing in black mesh underwear with her growing bump on full display. “Joy has filled our home and hearts again.”
“1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way,” Chrissy continued in the caption, referencing that the pair used in vitro fertilization to conceive for the fourth time. “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce,’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still.”
In September 2020, Chrissy and John shared the heartbreaking news that they had lost their unborn baby.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” the Cravings: Hungry For More author shared at the time alongside photos of them crying in the hospital after the pregnancy loss. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
Chrissy kept fans up to date throughout her most recent pregnancy, sharing photos of her baby bump and revealing her food cravings. While one photo captured her enjoying crackers and spray cheese, she also indulged in dishes including shrimp scampi toast and banana bread.
The former Sports Illustrated model has also been open about her love of motherhood. “I love being a mom and I can’t imagine ever saying, ‘Well, I’m done, I’m good on kids,’” she told Refinery 29 in April 2021. “John will probably have to be the one to pipe up and say that.”
