Buckle up, fam! Bachelor in Paradise always brings the drama season after season, making it the most successful Bachelor Nation spinoff. Needless to say, there have been some crazy moments on the beach in Mexico.
The beach-themed reality show has tons of jaw-dropping scenes that have happened over the years, including contestant meltdowns, unexpected couples, love triangles and more. After seven seasons of BIP, with No. 8 premiering on September 27, there have been many repeat contestants who have shown up multiple times looking for love (and a hefty paycheck), including “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile, Demi Burnett, Dean Unglert and Chris Bukowski.
That being said, show veterans Ashley Iaconetti and husband Jared Haibon – who welcomed their first baby together, son Dawson, in January 2022 – reflected on what it’s like being a repeat cast member.
“It was hard for us. I think it’s more difficult because when you go through it a couple of times, and then you’re removed from it, to go back into that world, you’re not as naive as you first were,” Jared told Us Weekly in August 2021. “It’s just a different experience. It’s not any less real or anything like that.”
Ashley first appeared during Bachelor Chris Soules’ season and confessed she’s learned a lot in hindsight. “Everything was fun and young and innocent. Everything seemed like just the biggest deal,” the “Almost Famous” podcast host said. “And then you’re like, ‘Oh, this is not the biggest deal. This is just fun.’”
It looks like season 8 will certainly bring the drama – and some “beautiful stories,” Paradise bartender Wells Adams, who was promoted to “master of rose ceremonies” on season 7 following Chris Harrison‘s exit from the franchise in 2021, told Bachelor alum Nick Viall during an appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast in August 2022.
“There’s a lot of crying, there’s a lot of sweating and yelling into the ocean, there’s a lot of crabs,” he said. “And then there’s a lot of love and there are some really beautiful stories at the end.”
Wells – who wed Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland in a stunning ceremony at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California, in August 2022 following a three-year engagement – also explained to Nick how the upcoming season will differ from previous seasons.
“This is so different from years past because usually, we would start filming about halfway through the season of The Bachelorette while it’s airing. So, I would watch while we were filming so I could get a grasp of these guys,” he said. “This is different because I went and filmed an entire season with a bunch of guys that I didn’t know … I really went in there with eyes unclouded and just had no bias at all.”
